Ok, really Etsy,School, and Work has me swamped!! My brother has been egging me on to hire him. I finally got around to it, because I really need him to work with me now He is a senior in highschool, has a car now..and really needs some cash. So he will be labeling my products, putting in the thank you cards, and products into the mailers, simple things like that for now.

You Know You Spend Too Much Time On Etsy When...

I spend a lot of time on etsy... wayeee too much time, not just selling, but buying, chatting, and looking through endless stores and checking sales a billion times, oh and of course the storque..

So I compiled a list of things that are tell tale signs that you spend way too much time on etsy.

1. In chat they have a sensor on certain words in chat.. like ass, and F...
They have creative words like ass= fantastic and the F... word is frell..
If you spend too much time on etsy these words become part of your vocabulary. I caught myself going around saying Frell I forgot my keys in my desk. Oh frell that hurt when I stubbed my toe. I also said I need to get off my fantastic and do some work. Shame on me

2. In chat if you hear a click or a "pound sound" someone either is whispering to you or saying your name in chat. If everytime you hear that noise you think you are in chat..and jump up.. you spend too much time on etsy.

3. Checking sales all the time, or hoping you got a sale, refreshing every 30 seconds
I do this sometime. It has gotten really bad lol. I even dream about selling something. Really bad..

4. This one number 4 is not necessarily a bad thing. If you go out to a retail store like Target or something and you see earrings,or jewelry or anything really and say Oh I can get something better on Etsy..you spend too much time .I do not even buy retail jewelry anymore, I just look on etsy. :)

5. You almost run late to work looking at Etsy shops. This has happened to me. I get so caught up in my etsy browsing that I run late. I have exactly enough time to run out the door and to work on time. I need a 12 step program

Ok I am going to make this blog a bonus. I want some more responses, that are signs you spend way too much time on etsy. Whoevers response is the best wins a free lip balm of your choice!!

So get to thinking and posting!

Sister's Baby Shower!!

HELLO ALL!!
Well tomorrow is my sister's baby shower for her second child, she already has a daughter who is 5 named Saamirah, and tomorrow is for girl number 2, we do not have a name yet. So of course I am happy, big sister here is baking carrot cake cupcakes as I type now. I am making them with pink frosting, and yellow sprinkles!! Yumm..

The recipe I use is right here ,except instead of a cake pan I am using a muffin pan.
I add a 1/2 cup of applesauce to this cake mixture to make it more moist, if you are vegan of course you can use more applesauce to substitute the eggs..
It is the best, sometimes I make this recipe and sell the cakes to locals

Title: Heavenly Carrot Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting
Yield: 15 Servings

Ingredients

CAKE:
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
2 ts baking soda
1/2 ts ground cinnamon
1/8 ts ground allspice
1/2 ts salt
2 c sugar
1 c vegetable oil
2 lg eggs; at room temperature
2 ts vanilla extract
4 4-ounce jars carrot baby
-food
1 8-ounce can crushed
-pineapple; well drained
3/4 c chopped walnuts
1/2 c raisins
FROSTING:
8 oz cream cheese; at room
-temperature
4 tb {1/2 stick} butter; at room
- temperature
1 tb half-and-half or milk
1/2 ts almond extract
1/2 ts vanilla extract
4 c confectioners' sugar {1
-pound}

Instructions

To make the cake: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter and
flour a 13 x 9-inch baking pan, tapping out the excess flour. Sift the
flour,
baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, and salt together and set aside.
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer at high speed, beat the sugar,
oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined, about 1 minute. Mix in the
carrot
baby food. With the mixer on low speed, beat in the flour mixture, scraping
down the sides of the bowl as needed, and mix until smooth. Using a wooden
spoon, stir in the pineapple, chopped walnuts, and raisins. Spread evenly
in
the prepared pan.
Bake until the top springs back when pressed lightly in the center,
about 1 hour. Cool completely in the pan on a wire cake rack.

To make the frosting: In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer at
medium speed, beat the cream cheese, butter, half-and-half, and almond and
vanilla extracts until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl with a
rubber spatula. With the mixer on low speed, gradually beat in the
confectioners' sugar.
Spread the frosting over the top of the cake. Cut into 15 pieces. If
desired, garnish each piece of cake with a walnut half.

Of course I will upload photos once cooled and frosted..

For gifts... Of course I shopped Etsy..
Here are the gifts that I purchased

This is from ecolifeplease on etsy.

Then I purchased this.. this is from babybears shop on etsy

I am also making baby products for the baby, since my sister wants to avoid as many chemicals as possible.

She is like me now in many ways. I cannot wait, will post pictures tomorrow!
